Fisheries play a significant role in the economic and nutritional landscape of the Mising Autonomous Council (MAC). Situated in a region abundant with rivers, lakes and ponds, fisheries form an essential part of the livelihoods of the Mising community. The MAC promotes sustainable aquaculture practices to harness the rich aquatic resources available in the region.
